No. 3 Seed Women's Tennis Faces No. 6 UNCW In the Quarterfinals

CHARLESTON, S.C.—The College of Charleston women's tennis team faces UNCW in the quarterfinals in the CAA tournament on Friday, April 21 at 6 p.m. in Williamsburg, Virginia at McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.
Charleston has an overall record of 9-8 record in the CAA tournament since joining prior to the 2014 season. The Cougars made it to the finals back-to-back years in 2014 and 2015 and look to make another run to the finals this season.
Last season, College of Charleston fell 4-3 to Elon in the semifinals. Charleston's doubles pair of Halli Trinkle and Slade Coetzee won their match 6-3. Elon picked up wins on courts two and three to give them the 1-0 advantage heading into singles play. The Cougars picked up three wins in singles by Halli Trinkle, Maja Jekauc, and Elizabeth Nowark. The Phoenix's doubles point gave them the edge to take the win over the Cougars.

Charleston defeated UNCW 6-1 in the regular season finale in Wilmington. The Cougars picked up an early 1-0 lead with a sweep in doubles. Charleston refused to slow down and picked up five wins in singles by Slade Coetzee, Halli Trinkle, Maja Jekauc, Nicole Stephens, and Peyton Brotzman.
