HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – College of Charleston won their first match of the day 3-1 over Mercer but fell to rival Coastal Carolina 3-0 in the 1-0 match to close the day.
 
Charleston overcame a 1-0 start from Mercer taking the next three points and making it a perfect 2-0 against the Bears this season. Emma Falk and Kora Hansen had the match-clinching point on court two in the opener overcoming a first set loss for a three-set win.
 
In the second match, Coastal Carolina used a first set win on each court to build an advantage and eventually take the match with the first three points. Gabi Bailey and Kyra Thompson had forced a third set on the top court, but the Chants had clinched the match before Tynley Smeltzer and Sofie Vogel could force a third on court four.
