HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – College of Charleston squeezed past No. 8 Stephen F. Austin 3-2 in their first match of the day and battled to the end before falling to No. 6 Southern Miss in the final match of the day by a 3-2 score.
Charleston's season comes to a close after a 2-2 week at the Sun Belt Championships but not before another 20-plus win season – the third in program history and second in as many seasons.
Top flight pair
Kyra Thompson and
Gabi Bailey went 2-0 on the day to set the new single-season program record for most wins at the first court posting a 20-8 record. Bailey and Thompson also finish their careers with 45 wins, the most by a duo in program history.
Bailey and Thompson were joined by
Tynley Smeltzer and
Sofie Vogel with 2-0 days as they finished the season 17-7 overall.
