CHARLESTON, S.C. - Shea Vidovic recorded her first career goal in College of Charleston's 2-1 loss to Mercer on Thursday night at Ralph Lundy Field at Patriots Point.
Charleston and Mercer went head-to-head in the first half as both teams fired eight shots. The difference was Vidovic finding net with ten minutes left off an assist from Lilli Ray.
The Bears scored the equalizer just three minutes into the second half. Eight minutes later, Mercer took advantage of a corner kick to add another tally and shift the momentum towards the visitors.
Izzy Arnold attempted to bring the Cougars even with five minutes left, but her shot was stopped by Mercer's Lindsay Bell.
Vidovic paced the Cougars with three shots, followed by Mary Alexander, Jenna Snead and Olivia Freitas with two each. Savannah Barron played the first half and did not allow a goal while recording five saves. Bailey Wood entered after intermission and posted four saves.
Up Next: Charleston will travel to Statesboro on Sunday to face Georgia Southern. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
