CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston plays the first of two home matches this week when the Cougars host Hofstra on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Ralph Lundy Field.
The game will be part of the Fall Sports Rewards program. Students will be provided Uber vouchers to help them get to Patriots Point, and all scanned students will be entered to win a Cougar beach package as part of the night's Endless Summer theme. The first 100 students will receive a free white lei.
Charleston has dropped one-goal games at Towson and UNCW since beating Hampton in its CAA opener. Hofstra has won five in a row including conference victories over Campbell, Drexel and Stony Brook. The Pride also has a win over a Rutgers team that was receiving votes in national polls at the time.
Hofstra is 9-1 against the Cougars, with all but one meeting taking place since Charleston joined the CAA in 2013. The Pride won, 2-1, in Hempstead, N.Y., a year ago with Dawes scoring the Cougars' goal and Savannah Barron making nine saves.
