Cougars Continue Road Trip at Stony Brook

STONY BROOK, NY. - The College of Charleston men's basketball team will look for its seventh consecutive win Saturday at Stony Brook. Action is set for 6:30 p.m.

STORYLINES
  • Charleston continues their Long Island road trip Saturday taking on the Stony Brook Seawolves. Both teams won their opening CAA contest as Charleston took down Hofstra and Stony Brook defeated Northeastern on Thursday.
  • Saturday marks Charleston graduate transfer Frankie Policelli's return to Island Federal Arena. Policelli played four seasons for the Seawolves and led the CAA in rebounding a season ago. He is currently averaging 8.6 points per game and 4.8 rebounds per game for the Cougars.
  • Charleston has won six straight games and won their conference opener for the second straight season. The Cougars are 5-0 all-time against the Seawolves. Last season was the first time the programs met as members of the same conference. This is Charleston first visit to Stony Brook since 1999.
  • The Cougars currently rank third in the nation three-point attempts per game (31.7) and 24th in made three-pointers per game (9.9). Reyne Smith moved into sole possession of third most triples in school history with two vs. Hofstra for 222 total in his career.
  • CJ Fulton has been one of the most efficient point guards in the nation, ranking 11th in the country in assist/turnover ratio (3.75).
  • Charleston ranks 11th in the nation in bench points per game (34.93). On Thursday, the Cougars outscored the Pride's bench 29-0.
SCOUTING THE SEAWOLVES
  • Stony Brook has won six of its last seven contests dating back to Dec. 6. The Seawolves shot 53.8% (14-26) in the second half vs. Northeastern, outscoring the Huskies 38-30 in the frame. Tyler Stephenson-Moore  scored 16 of his game-high 21 points in the second half while Aaron Clarke and Keenan Fitzmorris also finished in double figures, contributing 14 and 13 points, respectively. The trio of Clarke, Fitzmorris and Stephenson-Moore combined to score 48 of Stony Brook's 62 points (77% of the team's scoring output) in the win.
  • Stephenson-Moore leads the Seawolves with 15.1 points per game followed by Clarke with 12.1.
