Cougars Play Towson to 1-1 Draw

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston women's soccer tied Towson 1-1 on Thursday night to remain undefeated at Patriots Point.
The first goal of the matchup came in the 21st minute when a foul in the box gave the Tigers a penalty kick. With a shot to the right corner, Towson was able to convert to take the 1-0 lead.
The Cougars answered in the 37th minute, when a ball from Faith Slimmer found Emma Wennar in the far-right corner. A cross into the box slipped through the Towson defenders, giving Caroline Fowlkes finish into the back of the net. The two teams entered the break with a 1-1 score.
Despite multiple chances for the Cougars, the score ended in a 1-1 draw, giving the Cougar their fourth tie of the season.
Both teams tallied 12 shots while Charleston took eight shots on target. Savannah Barron played 90 minutes in goal for the Cougars, gathering six saves to help the defense.
Charleston will return to Patriots Point on Sunday, October 13 to host Elon. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m. and will be livestreamed on FloFC.
