
Women's Soccer Travels to Face Hampton

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's soccer team is traveling to Virginia to take on Hampton University on Thursday, October 17.
The Cougars are going into the game off a 3-0 win against Elon last weekend, bringing their season to 2-2-3 in conference play and tallying their eighth shutout of the season.
??The Cougars came out hot, when Emma Wennar drove the ball up the right side in the first two minutes of the game. With a shot to the back of the net, Wennar converted for an early 1-0 lead for Charleston. The Cougars went into the break with the one-goal lead.
Bella Antonio finished off the day for the Cougars with a goal in the final three minutes of the game. A breakthrough pass to Antonio gave her an open shot on goal, where she volleyed the ball into the back right corner of the net.
Hampton currently sits 3-11-1 on the season and 0-7 in conference play. The Pirates most recently faced Hofstra, taking a 0-2 loss.
The Cougars have a winning streak against the Pirates, as they prepare to face Hampton for the third consecutive season. This will be the first game off home turf for Charleston.
