WILMINGTON, N.C. – The College of Charleston men's soccer team fell on the road 2-1 to UNCW on Saturday night.
The Seahawks got on the board first, with a goal in the 32
nd minute to take the lead going into the break.
The Cougars found the back of the net in the 56
th minute when a cross ball into the box from
Leonardo D'Ambrosio found the foot of
Matt Lenert in the front of the net, who touched it into the goal.
UNCW regained the lead in the 67
th minute. The Cougars found some opportunites late in the matchup when a shot from D'Ambrosio went wide left, and again in the final seconds when a header in the box from
Emil Thyregod went over the goal.
Charleston stands 2-1-1 in the conference after Saturday night, tallying their first loss in CAA play.
The Cougars will remain in North Carolina, traveling to Chapel Hill to face the Tarheels on October 8. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. and will be livestreamed on ACCNX.
