TOWSON, Md. – No. 1 College of Charleston beat No. 4 Hofstra in four sets (25-14 23-25, 25-22 and 25-23), advancing to the CAA Volleyball Championship match for the first time since 2017.

The Cougars earned its first conference postseason victory since 2018, a 3-1 win over UNCW.

Emily Banitt (15 kills, 10 digs) and
Hannah Scott (37 assists, 14 digs) both recorded their team-best 14th double-doubles in the win.

Deanna Dollar hit .353 with eight kills, 5 digs and three blocks while
Allie Holland chipped in 10 kills and seven blocks.

WHEN THE GAME WAS DECIDED:
- Charleston tallied its 14th block of the match to end the contest, tying the single season record with 323.0 total blocks, which was first set in 2007.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST HOFSTRA:
- Charleston had six different players record multiple blocks, paced by Holland's seven and Caitlyn Callahan's six.
- The Cougars hit .320 in the opening frame and held the Pride to a .030 attacking pct.
- Scott was one of three players for CofC with double-digit digs.
- CofC held an opponent below a .170 hitting pct. for the 18th contest this season.

- Charleston improves to 14-12 overall against Hofstra and 4-2 in the CAA Championships.
- The Cougars advance to the championship match for the first time since 2017.
- CofC held Hofstra to 14 points in the first set, the fewest points allowed in a frame since the Cougars kept UNCW to 13 points in set two in the 2018 CAA Quarterfinals.
- Dollar had career-highs in kills, digs, blocks and attacking pct.
- Charleston improves to 7-0 in the month of November, the most victories in the month since 2015.
- The Cougars are 22-2 this season when winning the third set and 10-1 in matches on Friday.
- Friday was the ninth time in 2024 Charleston has recorded 14-plus blocks in a contest.
- Callahan's 144 blocks are the seventh-most in a single season by a Cougar in the Rally-Scoring Era.
