RICHMOND, Va. – College of Charleston graduate student Cole Singsank has slugged his way to CAA Player of the Week honors, marking the third straight week a Cougar has been honored by the conference office.
Singsank joins Cole Mathis and Avery Neaves as the three most recent recipients of the weekly award. The Cougars have also had three pitchers and one rookie of the week, giving them a total of seven players recognized during the 2024 season.
Singsank went 9-for-17 with six home runs, 15 RBI and nine runs scored in a 3-1 week for the Cougars. He began his power surge with a pair of long balls in a 10-7 win over The Citadel on Tuesday and continued it in a series win against Northeastern.
The designated hitter had another two-homer game in a loss to the Huskies in the opener, and blasted two more along with a pair of doubles, seven RBI and four runs scored in an 18-5 win in the middle game.
Singsank was held without a home run in the finale but contributed an RBI single and scored in a six-run eighth inning that rallied Charleston to a 6-3 win and its seventh-straight CAA series victory.
With his power surge, Singsank took over the team lead and moved into fifth place in the league with 16 home runs. He is batting .297 with a .665 slugging percentage and 48 RBI, just one shy of the top spot on the Cougars.
