WILMINGTON, N.C. – Freshman Carter Harrington allowed two runs over seven innings as College of Charleston baseball beat UNCW, 6-2, Friday evening at Brooks Field.
CofC improves to 21-23 overall and 11-11 in the CAA while the Seahawks are now 25-19 and 13-9 in league play.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST UNCW:
- Charleston capitalized with a pair of two-run singles in the second.
- Freshman Nick Diaz singled to center to bring home redshirt senior Ethan Plyler and redshirt junior Braeden Smith before scoring on freshman Jake Amman's two-run knock.
- Harrington mowed down the Seahawks, allowing just one hit through the first five frames.
- The Cougars added a pair of insurance runs in the fifth and sixth on a sophomore Landon Penfield sacrifice fly and RBI single from sophomore Alex LaCoste.
- Harrington finished the evening allowing two runs on just four hits while striking out four.
- Redshirt senior Alex Lyon took the ball for the final six outs, allowing one over the minimum.
- Plyler went 3-for-4 with a walk and two runs in the victory while Diaz reached base in all four plate appearances.
OF NOTE:
- Charleston is 27-28 versus UNCW and 10-16 as the road team.
- Harrington match his career-best 7.0 innings, which is originally set March 20 versus UNCW.
- Lyon made his 95th career relief appearance, tying Carter Love for the most in school history.
- Plyler has recorded multiple hits in the last three ballgames and is 8-for-12 in that stretch.
