
Oziera Ahmad Named CAA Rookie of the Year; Three Cougars Earn Postseason Honors

RICHMOND, Va.- Three College of Charleston women's tennis players were awarded CAA postseason honors, including Oziera Ahmad for Rookie of the Year and Second Team All-CAA, Maja Jekauc for First Team All-CAA and Halli Trinkle for Second Team All-CAA.
Ahmad was named CAA Rookie of the Year, the first in program history. Ahmad put together a sparkling 17-3 record in singles for Charleston, including a 14-2 mark at the No. 3 position. The freshman closed the season with victories in eight of her final nine matches and helped the Cougars to a 17-5 team record. Ahmad also added five victories in doubles. She is the first Charleston player to ever be chosen as the CAA Rookie of the Year.
Jekauc gathered a 15-5 record this season primarily playing at the No.1 singles position. Jekauc picked up four wins in conference play, compiling an impressive 10-4 record solely at the No.1 position.
Trinkle finished the season with a 12-8 record in singles play, competing mostly at the No.2 position for the Cougars. During the season, Trinkle won eight consecutive matches in singles play to help the Cougars finish third in the regular season standings.
