CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston head men's basketball coach Chris Mack has added Xavier transfer Lazar Djokovic to the 2024-25 roster.

Djokovic spent his rookie season at Xavier, seeing action in 28 games with seven starts, including three in post season play. The Serbia native averaged 2.8 points per game and 2.9 rebounds per game in 14.4 minutes per game.

He was named the Big East Freshman of the Week after scoring 10 points to go with four rebounds and two assists in a win over Bryant.

"Lazar Djokovic is set to have a tremendous career. A year ago he arrived late to Xavier and suffered a hand injury that set him back. Lazar is a competitor and will add bounce, skill and toughness in the frontcourt," said Mack.

Djokovic starred at the FIBA U19 World Cup last June for Serbia, averaging 14.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.0 steals in seven games. He shot 55% from the field, including 38% from 3-point range. He will reunite with teammate Djordje Curcic in Charleston.

"His Big East experience down the stretch shows a glimpse of who he can be with another summer of hard work. Lazar can score at the rim, face you at the elbow and shoot the three. But most importantly he's a nasty competitor and we can't wait to coach him."
