
Michner Earns 100th Win in Victory Over Terriers

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – College of Charleston women's soccer defeated Wofford 3-0 on Thursday night, securing head coach Christian Michner's 100th career win.
The Cougars began the scoring early, taking a 1-0 lead in the eighth minute when a long shot from Emma Wennar found the back of the net for her second goal of the season.
Charleston doubled their lead in the 63rd minute, as Millie Cluxton won a battle in the box to score her first career goal. Faith Slimmer followed with the third goal, only one minute later, on a breakaway for her third goal of the season.
The Cougars improve to 4-1, tallying their third shutout of the season. The Charleston defense allowed only one shot on goal in the 90 minutes of play, as the Cougars out-shot their opponent 23-6.
With tonight's win, Michner tallies his 100th career win after beginning his head coaching career at Charleston in 2010. Michner led Charleston through the transition into the Coastal Athletic Association and has tallied 29 all-conference honors with 18 student-athletes. A College of Charleston graduate himself, Michner played under Ralph Lundy from 1996-98.
The Cougars will return home on Sunday, September 1 to host North Dakota at Patriots Point. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m. and will be livestreamed on FloFC.
