COLUMBIA, S.C. – College of Charleston lost to South Carolina (12-25, 21-25 and 20-25) Tuesday evening in the Carolina Volleyball Center in Columbia, S.C.

With the loss, The College falls to 3-5 on the season while the Gamecocks improve to 5-1.

Three Cougars had six-plus kills, paced by
Morgan Cobb's seven in the setback. Defensively,
Hannah Scott tallied seven digs.

WHEN THE GAME WAS DECIDED:
- South Carolina's Riley Whitesides leveled the third set at 18 with a kill, starting an 8-2 run for the Gamecocks to secure the set and match.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST SOUTH CAROLINA:
- Charleston led South Carolina in total attacks, 97-91
- The Cougars closed the second set gap to two points, 18-20, before the Gamecocks took the set.
- Hannah Scott posted 25 assists, seven digs and three blocks.
- Defensively, CofC recorded seven total blocks.

OF NOTE:
- Charleston is 4-15 against South Carolina all-time and 1-10 in three set contests.
- Lauren Fowler made her first collegiate start recording four kills and an assist.
- With four kills on Tuesday, Caitlyn Callahan has 35 kills in the last four matches.
- Allie Holland has three-plus blocks in five of the seven contests this season.
- Holland also recorded her 700th career kill in the loss.
