CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's soccer team will host UNCW on Thursday afternoon for their first home conference matchup. Kick off has been moved to 1:00 p.m. due to weather.
The Cougars return home after a weekend road trip to Long Island, facing Hofstra and Stony Brook to kick off CAA play. Charleston fell in both matchups, looking to bounce back with their first conference win of the season against the Seahawks.
Charleston currently sits 7-3-1 on the season, undefeated at home with five wins. Faith Slimmer is paving the way for the Cougar offense, leading the team with eight goals on the season, ranking her eighth in the NCAA for total goals.
UNCW holds a 2-6-2 record on the season, most recently falling to Campbell and William & Mary in the opening weekend of conference play. Currently on a three-game losing streak, the Seahawks will also be looking for their first conference win of the season.
The teams last met in the fall of the 2023 season, where UNCW took the win in a tight 1-0 score. The last time the Cougars hosted the Seahawks at Patriots Point, the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
