CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston lost to Pacific in four sets (25-16, 19-25, 23-25 and 18-25) Saturday evening in the final game of the CofC Classic.

Caitlyn Callahan concluded her strong weekend with eight kills, five blocks and a .500 attacking percentage. Defensively for the Cougars,
Tynley Smeltzer recorded 21 digs while
Emma Appleman and
Emily Banitt both tallied 11 digs apiece.

WHEN THE GAME WAS DECIDED:
- Pacific's Alexa Edwards put down one of her 18 kills in the match in the fourth set, giving the Tigers a 19-10 advantage. Pacific never looked back, even as Charleston pushed its lead to just six later in the deciding set.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST PACIFIC:
- Charleston came out of the gates hot, taking the first set, 25-16.
- Banitt recorded her second double-double of the season (10 kills and 11 digs).
- Head coach Jason Kepner was victorious twice more in challenges, giving him a 5-1 record (.833).
- Allie Holland completed 10 kills offensively and tallied five digs and three blocks on the defensive side.

OF NOTE:
- Charleston is 0-1 against Pacific all time following Saturday's loss.
- The Cougars recorded double-digit blocks for the second time this season.
- Callahan and Smeltzer were named to the CofC Classic All-Tournament Team.
- Smeltzer collected 63 digs across the weekend slate while Callahan tallied 31 kills, 16 blocks and a .418 attack percentage.
