CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men's basketball team welcomes Stony Brook to TD Arena for a rematch of last season's CAA Championship on Thursday, January 30. The game is first of three straight for the Cougars on CBS Sports Network.

STORYLINES

• The Cougars won the 2024 CAA Championship with an 82-79 overtime win over the Seawolves on March 12, 2024. Ante Brzovic had 12 points for Charleston, and CJ Fulton dished out six assists.
• Charleston is coming off a wire-to-wire win over Elon on January 25 to hand the Phoenix their first home loss of the season. The Cougars outrebounded Elon, who entered the contest averaging the sixth most rebounds per game in the nation, 40- 33 and recorded ten steals, the fifth time this season in double-digits.
•  AJ Smith matched his Cougar-high with 20 points at Elon. Brzovic notched his 15th career double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds while Lazar Djokovic recorded his second career double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
• Chris Mack's squad ranks 40th in the nation in defensive rebounds per game (27.24). Individually, Brzovic ranks 15th in the country in the statistic (7.10). The senior is also currently sixth in the country in total made field goals (154).
• Fulton ranks second in the country in assist/turnover (4.52) and is 19th in assists per game (6.1). Deywilk Tavarez joins the statistical rankings, coming in at 17th in three-point percentage (44%).
• Four different Cougars are averaging double digit points per game - Brzovic (18.4). Tavarez (14.1), Derrin Boyd (13.1), and Smith (11.1).
• Boyd has reached double digit scoring efforts in the last 12 contests, highlighted by a 24-point effort vs. UNCW.

SCOUTING THE SEAWOLVES

• Stony Brook comes to Charleston with a 5-16 overall record and 1-7 CAA record. The Seawolves are coming off their first league win, a 89-74 victory over North Carolina A&T on Saturday, January 25. Stony Brook shot 31-of-59 (52.5%) from the field in the win, its highest shooting percentage of the season.
• CJ Luster III leads Stony Brook with 14.7 points per game followed by Joe Octave with 13.3. Andre Snoddy controls the glass, grabbing 6.9 rebounds per game.
