CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston men's golf team returns for its fourth tournament of the season at the Bryson Invitational October 13-15. The tournament takes place in the Cougars' backyard at Daniel Island's Ralston Creek Course.
This will be in the inaugural The Bryson tournament hosted by the Matt Bryson Foundation.
The Cougars are coming off of a sixth place finish out of 15 teams at The Bryan Bros Collegiate. The Cougars were one of seven teams to finish under par at Solina Golf Course.
Marno Lange (67),
Loran Appel (68), and
Miles Eubanks (69) all had under-par rounds in the 60s at Solina.
Lange's score of 67 marks Charleston's second-lowest round of the season. From the second to the third rounds, the rookie played 34 straight holes without a bogey. Both Lange and Appel finished in the top 20 at T19 (-3), moving up 30 spots from their starting positions on the first day.
Nevill Ruiter finished T24 (-1), turning in back-to-back 69 rounds to open play in Columbia. The senior sank six birdies in the second round, four on the back nine. Ruiter will not be available for The Bryson as he is competing with Team Netherlands at the World Amateur Team Championship in Singapore.
The Bryson will mark the collegiate debut of rookie
Michael Gavin in the Cougar lineup.
The Cougars will tee off Monday, October with 18 holes.
