Cougars Set to Battle Tribe on CBS Sports Network

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The College of Charleston men's basketball team travels to Williamsburg to take on William & Mary on Monday, February 3, in a CAA game with tournament implications. Action is set for 8:00 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.

STORYLINES
  • Charleston holds the 12-9 all-time series edge over the Tribe and are winners of the last six meetings. Three of the last eight games between W&M and CofC have been decided by a single possession, including the Cougars' 84-83 win in Williamsburg last season. The teams currently have matching 7-2 league records and will meet just once in the regular season.
  • The Cougars, now 17-5 overall, are coming off a come from behind 81-74 triumph over Stony Brook on Thursday night in Charleston. After falling behind 16-0, the Cougars worked their way back behind a 53% shooting effort, the program's top mark in CAA play thus far.
  • AJ Smith had a season-high 25 points, going 10-17 from the field. Derrin Boyd matched Smith's efforts with 25 points of his own on the way to his 1,000th career point in Division I play.
  • Chris Mack's squad ranks 40th in the nation in defensive rebounds per game (27.23), led by Ante Brzovic who ranks 15th in the nation in the individual statistic (7.00).
  • Brzovic is the only CAA player to rank in the top five in the league in points per game (18.3, 5th), and rebounds per game (8.4, 2nd). He leads the league in field goal percentage (.549) and is top ten in assists per game (3.1) and blocks per game (1.1).
  • Senior CJ Fulton leads the nation in assist/turnover ratio (4.59) and is 13 in the nation in assists per game (6.3). He recorded his first career double-double vs. Stony Brook with 11 rebounds and 11 assists.
  • Four different Cougars - Brzovic (18.3), Deywilk Tavarez (14.1), Boyd (13.7), and Smith (11.8) - are currently averaging double-figures.
SCOUTING THE TRIBE
  • William & Mary enters the contest 13-9 overall and 7-2 in the CAA. The Tribe is one of 24 teams nationally that are undefeated at home this season going 9-0 at Kaplan Arena. Overall, W&M is riding a 10-game home court win streak, the 15th-best active streak in the country.
  • The Tribe is coming off a 96-55 loss at Campbell on Thursday night. W&M shot 26% from the floor, including 3-25 from 3-point range.
  • W&M is led by Gabe Dorsey with 12.5 points per game followed by Noah Collier with 12.3. Collier also controls the glass, grabbing 5.1 rebounds per game.
