MT PLEASANT, S.C. – College of Charleston baseball surrendered three home runs as Seton Hall won, 8-5, Sunday afternoon at Patriots Point.
The Cougars earned the series win after beating the Pirates in the first two games and now sit at 5-2 on the season. Seton Hall improves to 2-4 with the Sunday victory.
CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST SETON HALL:
- Junior Payton Frehner collected his second home run of the weekend; a three-run blast in the bottom of the first.
- Frehner later came around to score in the fourth on Ben Venables' one-out single.
- Charleston leveled the game at five in the bottom of the sixth on a sacrifice bunt that scored pinch runner Isaiah Rainge.
- The Cougars gave up the go-ahead two-run homer in the seventh before the Pirates added an insurance run in the ninth.
OF NOTE:
- Charleston is 3-2 all-time against Seton Hall.
- The Cougars have hit a home run in four straight games.
- CofC stole three bases on Sunday, giving them 18 on the season. The Cougars went a perfect 8-for-8 in stolen base attempts against Seton Hall.
- Frehner tallied multiple hits in all three games against the Pirates.
- Freshman Drew Medley and redshirt freshman Asher Lucas made their collegiate debuts on the mound for Charleston.

Charleston heads to Statesboro, Ga. on Tuesday, Feb. 23 for a midweek contest at Georgia Southern. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
