STATEBORO, Ga. – College of Charleston baseball heads to the Peach State to play Georgia Southern on Tuesday, Feb. 25. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. with the game airing live on ESPN+.

FIRST PITCH:
- Charleston won its second straight series to begin the season, taking two of three from Seton Hall.
- CofC held the Pirates to one run in Friday (4-1) and Saturday's (8-1) victories.
- Junior Jake Brink tossed 5.1 scoreless frames on Friday, improving to 10.1 shutout innings to begin the year.
- Senior Aidan Hunter allowed a lone run in 7.0 innings of work Saturday, striking out 6 and retiring 15 straight batters in the outing.
- Junior Payton Frehner was named the CAA Player of the Week, giving Charleston the award again after graduate Avery Neaves earned the honor after the opening weekend.
- Frehner batted .529 (9-for-17), with eight runs, a double, two home runs, seven RBI and a 1.520 OPS. The first baseman scored two runs and reached base at least twice in all four games.
- On Saturday, Frehner went 4-for-5 with 3 RBI before hitting a three-run homer in the first inning of Sunday's contest. Against the Pirates, Frehner went 8-for-13 (.615 AVG).
- Charleston improved to 200-12 under head coach Chad Holbrook when leading after eight innings.
- The Cougars have hit a home run in four straight games with Frehner leading the team with two long balls.
- Senior Dariyan Pendergrass is hitting .556 with a .704 on-base pct. in the first seven games. Pendergrass has worked eight walks and is a perfect 6-for-6 in stolen base attempts. The outfielder ranks sixth nationally in on-base pct., tenth in stolen bases and 15th in batting average.
- Freshman Drew Medley and redshirt freshman Asher Lucas made their collegiate debuts on the mound Sunday while redshirt sophomore Hogan Garner recorded his first career hit.
SERIES HISTORY:
- Charleston will face Georgia Southern for the 79th time in program history; the third-most games against a single opponent, trailing Charleston Southern (80) and The Citadel (102). The series between the Cougars and Eagles is level at 39-39. Charleston is victorious in four of the last five meetings and has won 15 of the 32 games in Statesboro.

- Charleston faces Creighton for the first time in program history when the Bluejays travel to Patriots Point Feb. 28 and March 1-2. First pitches are slated for 4 p.m., 2 p.m. and 1 p.m. with all home games airing on FloCollege.
