CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston women's golf finished in second place at the Daniel Island Invitational, three strokes behind first place finisher NC State. The Cougars and Wolfpack tied with a 3-under 285 team total for the final round.
The Cougars led the field in par 4 scoring (3.98), par 5 scoring (4.80), and total birdies (52).
"It was a great shootout with NC State. Both teams played some great golf," said head coach
Jamie Futrell. "I am very proud of all the team's play. It was another great week."
Molly Hardwick was the Cougars top finisher in fifth (-6) followed by
Emma Schimpf in seventh (-5).
Adrian Anderson joined Hardwick and Schimpf in the top ten, taking tenth place. Anderson's 69 was the team low score on the day.
This marks the Cougars fifth tournament this season in the top five. The program returns to action on March 10-11 for the Briar's Creek Invitational.
