COLUMBIA, S.C. -  The College of Charleston beach volleyball team will travel to Columbia on Saturday and Sunday for the Carolina Challenge. The Cougar will take on Eastern Kentucky and Coastal Carolina on Saturday before battling UNCW and South Carolina on Sunday.

The Cougars hold the 4-0 all-time series edge over EKU, last meeting a season ago in Charleston.

Charleston will face Sun Belt rival Coastal Carolina for the first time this season in Columbia. The Chanticleers were picked to finish second in the Sun Belt Preseason Poll. The series record is currently tied at 8-8 with the Cougars' last win over the Chanticleers coming in 2023.

The Cougars will play UNCW for the third time this season on Saturday. Charleston dropped both previous matches 4-1. Tynley Smeltzer was a part of both dual victories, teaming up with Allie Holland and Sophie Hays at the 5s in separate matches.

Charleston will end the weekend taking on South Carolina, who is receiving votes in the latest AVCA Collegiate Beach Poll.
