CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston beach volleyball team will compete in the Sun Belt Midseason Tournament this weekend in Foley, Alabama, facing Mercer and #18 Georgia State on Friday and UNCW and Coastal Carolina.
Charleston enters the tournament with a 0-2 record in the league. Results from the weekend will carry into seeding for next month's Sun Belt Championship in Foley.
The Cougars will face three of their four competitors for at least the second time season in Foley. The program will open the weekend Mercer, the first meeting between the programs this season.
Charleston has lost three matches to UNCW so far this season, all by a 1-4 total. This will be the second meeting between the Cougars and Coastal Carolina as well as Georgia State. Charleston took a dual vs. Coastal and was swept by Georgia State.

Sophie Hays lead the team with a 7-4 record, primarily playing at the 4s.
Action begins on Friday, March 28 at 8:00 a.m. vs. Mercer followed by a 12:00 p.m. battle with Georgia State. Play will resume on Saturday, March 29 at 8:00 a.m. vs. UNCW and 12:00 p.m. vs. Coastal Carolina.
