CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men's soccer team travels to Greenville, S.C., on Tuesday, Sept. 16, for a 6:00 p.m. clash with in-state rival Furman. The contest will air on ESPN+.
The Cougars are chasing their first road win of the year and will look to make a statement against the Paladins. At home, Charleston has impressed with a 2-0 victory over North Carolina and a 1-0 triumph over USC Upstate, building momentum heading into Tuesday's matchup.
Charleston is coming off a 0-0 draw against conference rival Campbell Saturday at Patriots Point. Goalkeeper Jourdan Schumacher was recently named CAA Defensive Player of the Week, earning his first career conference honor. Schumacher recorded eight saves without conceding a goal in the Cougars' 1-0-1 week.
Furman enters the matchup 4-0-3 on the year, led by standout forward Wilfer Bustamante with four goals this season. The Paladins are receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 and are ranked No. 3 in the nation by Top Drawer Soccer.
