NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The College of Charleston women's golf team currently sits in ninth place after the opening round of the Mason Rudolph Championship hosted by Vanderbilt at the Vanderbilt Legends Club.
"We definitely showed a lot of heart today. It was an uphill battle all day and we finished okay all things considered," said head coach
Jamie Futrell. " Looking forward to a great weekend!"
Molly Hardwick led the Cougars with a 1-under, T12 finish with three birdies in the round.
Carys Fennessy (+1) and
Emilie von Finckenstein (+2) finished just behind Hardwick in the day one standings. Fennessy sank four birdies on the day, the most of any Cougar.
The Cougars return to action for the second round tomorrow, September 20, at 8:35 a.m. Charleston will play with Western Kentucky and Clemson.
