9/26/2025 11:30:00 AM

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The College of Charleston women's soccer team travels to North Carolina to face UNCW Sunday, September 28 with kickoff set for 1:00 p.m.

Charleston and UNCW post the same season record of 6-3-1. The Cougars and the Seahawks are two of three CAA teams with a 2-0 conference record so far. This marks the first time since 2019 that Charleston has started conference play 2-0.

CofC is on a five-game win streak most recently defeating Northeastern 2-1 on the road for the second all-time victory over the Huskies. In Boston, Avery Nassetta scored her third goal of the season off assists from Caroline Fowlkes and Bella Antonio in the 28th minute responding to the Huskies earlier goal. Tied at half, Emma Stankunas found the game winning goal and her first career goal in the 65th minute off an assist from Sienna Petro

To begin CAA play, Charleston traveled to Monmouth where they found a dominating 4-0 victory with junior Bella Antonio recording her second career brace. Bubbles Dever and Emma Wennar each scored less than a minute apart to secure the Cougar's win. Antonio was named CAA Offensive Player of the Week for the brace and assist.

Eight Cougars have scored goals this season with Antonio and Wennar leading the team with four each. Wennar is ranked 16th nationally and 2nd in the CAA for shots per game with 4.2. As a team the Cougars rank 19th nationally for shots per game with 18.1.

UNCW has a 1-3 home record for the 2025 season, falling to Western Carolina 2-0 in their most recent home game. The Seahawks picked up a pair of wins to open CAA play defeating Northeastern and Monmouth 1-0.

Sunday's game will mark the 21st meeting between Charleston and UNCW. Charleston trails the series 5-12-4 with a 1-8-1 record on the road. A win Sunday would mark the second all-time Charleston win in Wilmington. If Charleston wins Sunday, it will be the first time the Cougars have ever gone 3-0 to begin conference play.

Sunday's game will be streamed on FloCollege with the link to watch found here. Following Sunday's match, the Cougars will return home to host Hampton Thursday, October 2nd with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m.
