Cougars Fall to Wildcats on the Road

Davidson, N.C. - The College of Charleston women's soccer team fell 0-2 at Davidson on Sunday, August 23.
Goalkeeper Ainsley Chunn totaled five saves in the first half. Two of Chunn's saves resulted from back-to-back shots in the 22nd minute, making diving efforts to hold the Wildcats scoreless.
The Cougars fell behind in the 25th minute when the Wildcats scored a goal on a deflection off the defenders.
Mia Vrataric entered in the goal for the second half, marking her first appearance as a Cougar. The graduate student tallied four saves of her own, allowing the Wildcats final goal of the day in the 50th minute.
In the final minute of play, Ellie Stewart fired a shot but failed to connect and was deflected off the post in a final effort to put the Cougars on the board.
Maggie Wadsworth totaled four of the Cougars' seven shots in the match and the only shot on goal. Wadsworth leads the team in shots with ten on the season.
The Cougars will travel to Jacksonville, Fla. this Thursday, August 27, to face off against North Florida. Kickoff is at 6:00pm, and the match will be streamed on ESPN+ with live stats available here.
