Charleston, S.C. - The College of Charleston women's soccer team returns to Patriots Point this Sunday, August 30 to face off against UMass Lowell.
Charleston is coming off a 1-1 draw at North Florida on Thursday night. After 72 minutes of scoreless action, North Florida broke through first, scoring off the cross to take the late lead. The Cougars battled back, with Bella Antonio drawing a foul in the box in the 88th minute to earn a penalty kick. Antonio converted the penalty kick to even the score.
Antonio recorded the most shots in a match by a Cougar this season with six and extended her team lead in goals to three on the year. She is also a perfect two-for-two on penalty kick attempts this season, with both resulting in goals.
Goalkeeper Ainsley Chunn tacked on three saves in the match to bring her season total to 25. She currently ranks among the top-50 nationally in total saves.
Sunday's match will mark the first meeting in program history between Charleston and UMass Lowell. The River Hawks are currently 1-2-1 on the season, after most recently defeating Merrimack 5-2 for their first win of the season.
Kickoff is set for 6:00pm. The match will feature an 80's theme, with party accessories being handed out at the gate (while supplies last).
The match will be streamed on FloCollege and live stats can be found here.
