RICHMOND, Va. – College of Charleston junior midfielder/forward Stian Bendvold was named the CAA Offensive Player of the Week following a strong performance in the Cougars' 2-1 win over Campbell.
Bendvold recorded a match-high three points, scoring one goal and assisting on another to help Charleston start CAA play 1-0.
The Begby, Norway native opened the scoring in the 14th minute, lacing a shot into the top right corner of the net to give the Cougars a 1-0 advantage. Campbell quickly answered to level the match, but Bendvold responded in the 37th minute by connecting with Michiharu Takanashi for Charleston's second goal of the night, the goal that proved to be the game-winner.
With the performance, Bendvold collected his fourth goal and fifth assist of his collegiate career.
The honor marks Bendvold's first CAA Offensive Player of the Week award and Charleston's second this season. Matt Lenert earned the conference's first offensive weekly honor on August 24 after four goals, three assists and a game-winner during the opening week of the year.
Charleston will continue CAA play Saturday, September 5 as the Cougars travel to William & Mary and face their first road test of 2026.
