Cougars Fall to Chanticleers in Road Contest

Conway, S.C. - The College of Charleston women's soccer team fell 1-0 to Coastal Carolina in Conway, S.C. on Thursday, September 10.
The Cougars fell behind early when the Chanticleers found the net in the 13th minute to take the 1-0 advantage.
Goalkeeper Ainsley Chunn punched out a shot in the 31st minute to earn her first save of the match. Chunn recorded her second save in the 44th minute, making a diving attempt to hold the Chanticleers to one goal to end the half.
Ellie Stewart fired a shot in the 53rd minute, followed by Sienna Ward in the 57th in an attempt to put Charleston on the board. The sophomore duo tallied the most shots in the match with Stewart and Ward collecting two and three, respectively.
The second half remained scoreless on both sides, with Chunn totaling four saves across the match.
The Cougars will return home Saturday, September 19 to face William & Mary to begin their CAA campaign. The Hometown Heroes and Military Appreciation match is set for 12:00pm at Patriots Point.
