Women’s Soccer to Host William & Mary to Begin CAA Slate

Charleston, S.C. - The College of Charleston women's soccer team will host William & Mary at Ralph Lundy Field on Saturday, September 19 to begin its CAA slate.
Charleston finished non-conference play with a 3-4-2 record, most recently falling 1-0 at Coastal Carolina on Thursday, September 10.
The Cougars fell behind early after the Chanticleers scored the lone goal of the match in the 13th minute. Goalkeeper Ainsley Chunn totaled four saves in the contest, bringing her season total to 29.
Through the first nine matches, senior Bella Antonio leads Charleston's offense with five goals and ten points. The preseason All-CAA Honorable Mention selection also leads the Cougars with eight shots on goal and three game-winning goals. Antonio is tied for the national lead in game-winners and has converted both of her penalty kick attempts this season.
Graduate student Maggie Wadsworth leads Charleston with 18 shots on the season, while freshman Mary Martin Spinner has dished out a team-high three assists.
The Cougars were picked fourth in the South Division in the CAA preseason poll and currently sit tied for third.
William & Mary holds a 6-2-5 advantage in the all-time series against Charleston. The Tribe enters Saturday's match with a 1-4-2 record, after being selected third in the South Division in the CAA preseason poll.
Saturday will serve as Charleston's Military Appreciation and Hometown Heroes match, honoring those who have served and continue to serve our country.
