Women’s Soccer Travels to No. 20 South Carolina for Road Contest

Charleston, S.C. - The College of Charleston women's soccer team will travel to Columbia, S.C. to face No. 20 South Carolina on Sunday, September 6.
The Cougars are coming off a 4-0 shutout victory over South Carolina State on Thursday, September 3.
The scoring was opened by senior Bella Antonio in the 10th minute, firing a low shot to give Charleston an early lead and bring her season goal total to five.
The Cougars added two more goals just two minutes apart later in the first half. Maggie Heffernan found the back of the net on a free kick in the 27th minute following a foul drawn by Sienna Petro. Freshmen Mary Martin Spinner followed in the 29th minute, recording the first goal of her career with a shot into the top corner of the net off a pass from Sienna Ward.
Another milestone came in the 64th minute when freshman Emma Bromley scored the first of her career, finding the left side of the net off a pass from Spinner.
Charleston totaled six assists in the match, the most in a match since 2024, when the Cougars defeated Charleston Southern, 5-0.
Sunday's contest will mark the 13th meeting in program history between the Cougars and the Gamecocks. South Carolina leads the all-time series, 9-1-2. The teams last met on August 14, 2025, with Charleston falling, 0-1.
The Cougars will look to earn the first top-25 victory in program history when they take on the No. 20 Gamecocks. South Carolina is currently 5-1 on the season, most recently defeating Colorado State 1-0 on Sunday, August 30.
