Siera Sheehan joins the College of Charleston staff in 2017 as the director of softball operations.
Sheehan spent the 2016 season as the pitching coach at Charleston Southern. Under her tutelage, Cheyenne Gandara earned a spot on the All-Big South honorable mention team while Holly Clark was on the All-Freshman squad.
Sheehan spent the previous two seasons as the pitching coach at Salve Regina University, and her staff boasted an ERA of 2.18 during those two seasons. She helped lead the team to 45 wins and the 2016 Commonwealth Coast Conference championship.
In addition to her coaching experience, Sheehan served as a private pitching coach from 2012-16, working with youngsters from ages 9-18 in individual and group sessions.
Sheehan was a four-year starter in the circle at the University of Hartford and was a two-time team captain. She made 100 career appearances and was team MVP her senior year. She also competed overseas as a member of AIST 2012 Softball Week in Prague, Czech Republic, and 2013 Softball Week in Amsterdam.
Sheehan earned her degree in business administration from Hartford in 2012.
