The Cougars took two of three doubles matches to take the doubles point to start the match. Artie Peller and Timo Siebert won 8-2 at number one doubles in the first match of the day. After the Bulldogs won at number two doubles, Liran Kling and Bastian Moldhenke downed John Williams and Robert Haynie 9-8 in a tiebreaker to earn the point for the Cougars.
Charleston took five of six singles matches to claim the conference win including Or Dekel winning 6-2 and 6-2 at number one singles over Matt Stubbs. Siebert dropped the first set 4-6 to Williams but rallied to win the second set 6-3 before winning a grueling third set 10-7 at number two singles.
Peller took the first set at number three singles but Warren Woolfolk rallied to win 6-4 and 7-5 to put The Citadel on the scoreboard. Bastian Moldhenke (6-4, 6-4), Phillip Koller (6-1, 6-3) and Liran Kling (6-3, 6-2) closed out the win with singles victories.
The Cougars wrapped up their regular season schedule with the win and will compete in the Southern Conference tournament on April 22-25. The Citadel closes out their regular season on April 17th against Furman before returning home to host the conference tournament.
