#articleRelated { display: none !important; } The College of Charleston men's tennis team took the key doubles point and defeated Florida A&M, 4-3, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.

With the win, CofC improves to 11-6 overall while Florida A&M drops to 14-12 on the season.

In doubles action, the duo of Phillip Koeller and Mike Reynolds defeated the Rattlers team of Pfungwa Mahefu and Zura Zhvania, 8-6 at number one doubles. Another 8-6 win at number three singles from the team of Jimmy Petit and Justin Malina over Florida A&M's Jarrel Williams and Vassill Zaharieu captured the doubles point.

The Cougars got wins at two, three and five singles to clinch the match. At two singles, CofC's Liran Kling defeated Zura Zhvania in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3. Koeller took a three-set match from Frank Green, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1, at three singles and Reynolds went three sets before capturing the point at four singles from FAMU's Zaharieu, 6-4, 3-6, 6-1.

The Cougars will be back in action next Friday when they travel to rival The Citadel for a Southern Conference match. The match is slated to begin at noon.
