Brooke Kotcella scored a career-high 21 points to lead the College of Charleston women's basketball team the 71-39 win over Charleston Southern this afternoon in front of 357 fans at CSU Fieldhouse in Charleston, S.C.
CofC improves to 5-6 overall while CSU falls to 3-10 on the year.
Charleston Southern suffered through one of its worst shooting performances of the year, going 11-for-63 from the field for 17.5 percent. Charleston, on the other hand, shot 48.2 percent from the field and was nine-for-15 from beyond the three-point arc.
The Bucs were 15-for-21 from the free throw line, while the Cougars were eight-for-10
Kotcella was eight-for-10 from the field, including a perfect three-for-three from three-point range to lead the Cougars. Jill Furstenburg followed Kotcella with 16 on the afternoon. Deidra Jones paced the team in rebounds with nine.
Tina DeCarvalho led the Bucs with 10 points and Tina Hall paced the squad in rebounds with 10 as well.
