
CofC Women's Tennis Downs North Florida, 6-1; Men Drop Match to UNF

The College of Charleston women's tennis team won five of six singles matches en route to a 6-1 win over North Florida in women's tennis action on Sunday. Charleston's men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to North Florida.
With the win, the Cougars improved to 6-1 on the season. The Cougar's women's team is in action again on Saturday, March 1 when they host Southern Conference foe Western Carolina (10:30 a.m.) and Samford (3:00) at the Patriots Point Tennis Complex. Charleston's men's squad fell to 3-4 and play host to SoCon member Davidson at 1:00 on Sunday, March 2.
In women's singles play, Laura Borza downed Vanessa Sanchez 7-6, 1-6, 1-0 at No. 2 singles, Link Leskosky beat Ina Durcakova 7-5, 6-1 at No. 3 singles, Holly Dowse defeated Maria Melihova 6-4, 6-0, Anna Lee Evans beat Victoria Krook 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5 singles and Amanda Becker earned a 7-6, 4-6, 1-0 win over Carolina Melo at No. 6 singles. The Cougars swept the doubles point including an 8-4 win by Borza and Leskosky at No. 1
In the men's competition, Steven Myers beat Yuiti Lopes at No. 3 singles 7-6, 6-3. Omer Abramovich and Myers teamed to win at No. 1 doubles over Lopes and Alejandro Argumedo, 8-3.
