Stepping on the outdoor courts for the first time this spring, the Drake men's tennis team notched its 33rd consecutive regular season triumph downing the College of Charleston on Monday (March 17), 7-0.
Drake extended its ledger with the victory to 13-0 on the campaign, while dropping the Cougars to 6-9 overall.
Drake earned the doubles point in the affair for the 12th time this spring as the Bulldogs swept all three contests.
Junior Maor Zirkin (Kibutz Hazor, Israel) won his 11th consecutive singles match downing Mickael Boyer, 6-3, 6-1 at top position.
Sophomore Bokang Setshogo (Gaborone, Botswana) extended his winning streak to 14 after registering a 6-3, 6-2 win versus Ross Moyer at No. 5.
Senior Dalibor Pavic (Adelaide, Australia) added a 6-2, 6-3 victory against Joe Nicolazzi at the second singles hole.
Rounding out the win total for the Bulldogs was junior Ricardo Lau (Tegucigalpa, Honduras), freshman Mauricio Ballivian (Santa Cruz, Bolivia) and junior Ivan Mendoza (Wellington, New Zealand) at the Nos. 3, 4 and 6 positions.
