
CofC Men?s Tennis Outlasts Samford, 5-2

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. ? The College of Charleston men's tennis team defeated Samford 5-2 in Southern Conference action on Sunday at the CofC Tennis Center at Patriots Point.
With the win, the Cougars move to 7-11 overall, 4-4 in the Southern Conference, while Samford drops to 6-12-1, 3-4-1 in the SoCon. Charleston returns to action on Wednesday, April 8th at Georgia Southern beginning at 2:30.
The Cougars got off to a fast start in doubles, as they took two of the three matches contested to take a team point. Charleston then took the match after winning four of the six matches played in singles.
In singles, Omer Abramovich was strong at number one singles, knocking off Richard Walsh in straight sets 6-2, 6-1. After dropping matches in the two and three spots, Mickael Trintignac defeated Brian Dushock 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 in the four spot and Mickael Boyer topped Oliver Reynolds 6-4, 4-6 6-3 at number five singles.
The Cougars rounded out the day in singles action with a victory, as Joe Nicolazzi defeated Carl Abalos at number six singles 4-6, 6-1, 6-2.
