The Cougars (6-4, 1-0 SoCon) is on a two-match win streak, most recently defeating Jacksonville State, 5-2, at Patriots Point on Monday afternoon. Junior Mickael Trintignac (Le Cannet, France) won his fourth straight singles match at the No.2 spot for a team-leading 8-2 record. He and senior Mickael Boyer (Meudon, France) also won their second consecutive match in doubles, the only CofC duo to do so last week.
Buffalo has yet to start conference competition in the Mid-American Conference, but has compiled a 5-3 record in non-conference matchups. The Bulls have gone 2-0 in the Palmetto State, defeating Furman and Army last week in Greenville as part of its spring break trip. Buffalo finishes its tour of South Carolina with a trip to the Lowcountry and a 3 p.m. date with the Cougars.
CofC hits the road on Saturday for its own trip to the Upstate for a 2 p.m. match with USC Upstate in Spartanburg. The Spartans (7-10, 3-2 A-Sun) registered a 6-1 victory over Jacksonville State just two days before the Cougars played the Gamecocks. The team is led by Ramiro Blanco and Marco Linconir, who are each on five-match win streaks in singles competition, playing primarily at the second and fifth spots respectively. Blanco has also compiled a 6-2 record in doubles action with partner Edgar Rodriguez as the second seed.
This will be the first time CofC faces either opponent in Coach Bruner's four-year tenure in Charleston.
