CofC (7-4, 1-0 SoCon) defeated the Paladins 4-3 last season to win the Southern Conference regular-season title for just the second time in program history. Senior Lukas Koncilia (Tyrol, Austria) clinched the match with a 7-6 third-set victory over Sawyer Duncan. The two will meet again this year as the top seeds in singles competition.
Furman (4-12, 1-1 SoCon) will look to rebound from a 5-2 loss to No. 47 Cornell on Monday. Sophomore Andrew Mellow was named the Southern Conference Player of the Week on Mar. 15 after going 4-0 in singles and doubles action, recording wins over Georgia Southern and St. John's. He will meet junior Mickael Trintignac (Le Cannet, France) at the No.2 spot in singles.
Trintignac currently leads the Cougars with a 9-2 singles record with a five-match winning streak. He and senior Mickael Boyer (Hamoir, Belgium) also have a 6-4 record in doubles, winning three straight at the No. 3 spot.
Following Thursday's match, CofC returns home to Patriots Point to host the Terriers of Wofford Saturday at 10 a.m.
