
Men?s Tennis Hits the Road for Two-Match Swing at Chattanooga, Samford

The Cougars (9-5, 3-1 SoCon) are looking to rebound from their first regular-season conference loss since 2008 after dropping a 5-2 decision to Elon on Mar. 29.
"We've got some great competition this weekend and we're looking forward to going down there and regaining our intensity and focus and performing well," head coach Jay Bruner said.
CofC will face Chattanooga on Saturday in a 1 p.m. match at the UTC Tennis Center. The Mocs are 7-11 on the season with a 2-4 conference mark. The team is on a three-match skid with its most recent loss in the form of a 6-1 defeat to Samford on Mar. 30. Chattanooga is led by sophomore Roberto Vieira who is 9-6 on the year in singles, including an 8-5 mark as the Mocs' top seed.
The Cougars will then travel to Birmingham, Ala. for Samford's final home match of the year at 11 a.m. CST on Sunday. The Bulldogs (14-4, 4-2 SoCon) have won their last three conference matches after opening the season with home losses to UNC Greensboro and Elon. The team is 10-3 when playing on its home court and is led by Oliver Reynolds who has an eight-match winning streak at the No. 4 spot in singles. He will face CofC's Kyle Parker (Richmond, Va.) on Sunday.
CofC is led by junior Mickael Trintignac (Le Cannet, France) who boasts a team-best 11-3 record in singles at the No. 2 spot. He is joined by senior Tom Delme (Hamoir, Belgium) and sophomore Stephen Hardy (Fairfax, Va.) who are riding six-match winning streaks at the third and sixth spots, respectively, and are both undefeated in conference play.
