No. 71 Men?s Tennis Concludes California Road Swing With 6-1 Win Over LMU

LOS ANGELES, CA. – The College of Charleston men's tennis team rounded out their two-match west coast road swing on Wednesday with another comprehensive team performance, defeating the Lions of Loyola Marymount University, 6-1, at the LMU Tennis Complex.
The College (6-3) jumped out to an early lead on the Lions after claiming the doubles point through wins on courts two and three by the Cougar pairings of Alon Faiman/Zack Lewis as well as the Chilean duo of Crescente Lesser and Rodrigo Encinas, who dispatched of their opponents, 8-2 and 8-5, respectively.
In singles play, the Cougars won five of six matches, led by Brice Allanic on court one who downed David Doehring, 6-1, 7-6. Also claiming victory for the Cougars in singles was Lesser, Charlie Ghriskey, Lewis and Faimon.
“We competed really well today,” said College of Charleston men's head tennis coach Jay Bruner. “Our focus was great in doubles, especially at No. 3 doubles. It was a team effort and I think we fought from the very beginning – we earned this win.”
Next up for The College is a Tuesday, Mar. 11, home CAA showdown with James Madison University at the CofC Tennis Complex, where doubles play is set to begin at 3:00 p.m.
