Cougars Finish Charleston Challenge With 22 Wins

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men's tennis team finished up play at the Charleston Challenge with 17 singles and five doubles wins over the course of the two-day tournament. Benedikt Henning finished champion of flight one with Johnny Wang, Ksawery Pociej, Robby Krick and Augusto Bonorino all going undefeated in flights four through seven.

Charleston begin play against N.C. A&T on Saturday morning in doubles action. Easton Thomas and Pociej, Henning and Wang, Bonorino and Andre Limon all combining to pick up straight set wins over the Aggies.

Singles action followed with Henning, Wang, Pociej and Bonorino winning in straight sets while Robby Krick won on a tiebreaker.

On Saturday afternoon the Cougars faced Queens University of Charlotte in doubles action followed by singles play. Thomas/Pociej, Henning/Wang, Bonorino/Limon all teaming up again to defeat the Queens in straight sets over the three matches. Henning, Wang, Pociej, Krick and Bonorino were also victorious in singles action with five Cougars undefeated in their respective flights over the course of the day.

Action continued on Sunday against Campbell University with Henning and Wang picking up the lone Charleston doubles victory over Clemente and Ayet, 7-6.

In singles action, Charleston swept all but one flight with Henning, Thomas, Wang, Pociej, Krick and Bonorino all winning; Henning, Thomas, Pociej and Bonorino in straight sets.
