CofC Women's Soccer Adds Nine

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's soccer team took full advantage of the national signing period, making nine additions to its 2018 roster.
 
Megan Classer – 5'6" – Forward

A Palmetto State product, five foot six inch forward Megan Classer joins the College of Charleston from Lexington High School. An incredibly accomplished player, Classer is a two-time Gatorade Player of the Year finalist, has both a HSSR SCHSL 4A and SCCAWS 5A Player of the Year award to her name, eight combined All-Region and All-State nods, and was just this year named to the NSCAA All-American team. Classer helped lead the Wildcats to three consecutive Regional Championships, as well as a State Championship in 2016. She also has nine years experience playing club soccer with three state championships under her belt, and was part of the Olympic Development program for four years. With 40 goals as a freshman alone and 100 goals in her high school career, she is a potent offensive weapon.
 
Hannah Farmer – 5'8" – Defender/Forward

Hannah Farmer comes to the College of Charleston after a three-year career with Savannah Christian Prep in Savannah, Ga. As an outside defender as well as an outside forward, Farmer was named her team's offensive MVP in 2016 en route to a region championship. She also played for over a decade with the Jacksonville Armada ECNL club, and earned the Georgia Certificate of Merit.
 
Luciana Garcia Riefkohl – 5'5" – Forward
Acapulco, Mexico – Notre Dame Prep

Luciana Garcia Riefkohl is a native of Acapulco, Mexico, but comes to the College by way of Notre Dame Prep in Phoenix, Ariz. A five foot five inch forward, Garcia Riefkohl helped lead the Saint Bernards to a pair of state championships, and helped her club team to the ECNL Playoffs in 2016. She won the St. Augustine Award for growth and improvement, and enjoys playing guitar and surfing.
 
Madeleine Job – 5'5" – Defender
Charleston, S.C. – Wando HS

A local product, Madeleine Job simply has to cross the Ravenel Bridge to join the Cougars, as the five foot five inch defender hails from Wando High School in Mt. Pleasant. A two-year letterwinner for the Warriors, Job helped the team to a finals appearance in the State Cup in 2015. A member of USAMP for ten years, she helped the team to a WAGS Championship in the same year.
 
Lauren Reichardt – 5'10" – Defender
Cary, N.C. – Panther Creek HS

Reichardt comes to CofC from Panther Creek High School in Cary, N.C. In three years with the Catamounts, she the five foot ten inch defender claimed a defensive player of the year aware, and helped the team achieve a NCHSAA Section Championship. Reichardt also logged eight years with NCFC ECNL, where she was named to two All-Region teams and helped the squad to a North Carolina State Championship. She has two brothers, and is a wiz in the classroom with a sterling 4.8 GPA.
 
Kirstin Sciartelli – 5'8" – Defender

A native of the Sunshine State, Kirstin Sciartelli joins the College of Charleston from Fleming Island High School. Playing two yeas for the Golden Eagles and another year at Stanton College Prep, she helped guide her teams to one district finals and another regional finals. The 5 foot eight inch defender also played five years of club soccer for a variety of different programs. In 2015, she was part of a CCSC SOL squad that claimed a R3PL championship. She is the oldest of four siblings.
 
Kacey Smekrud – 5'11" – Midfielder/Forward
La Grange, Ky. – Oldham County HS

A five foot eleven inch midfielder and forward, Kacey Smekrud joins the Cougars from Oldham County High School in La Grange, Ky. In three years with the Colonels, Smekrud strung together a highly impressive career, earning three All-Region nods, one KHSGSC All-State Honorable Mention, and one All-Area selection. In addition, Smekrud played ten years for the Kentucky Fir Generals, where she helped the team to back-to-back 29th District Championship appearances, resulting in a title in 2016. Smekrud is also an ace in the classroom, carrying a 4.2 GPA.
 
Lindsay Stravolo – 5'6" – Goalkeeper
Spartanburg, S.C. – Dorman HS

A five foot six inch goalkeeper from Dorman High School, Lindsay Stravolo joins the Cougars after earning three letters with the Cavaliers. An All-Region selection as a junior, Stravlo also logged three years with her club team, the Carolina Elite Soccer Academy ECNL. She is a good student in the classroom as a member of the national honor society, and she is the second of four children.
 
Mary Katherine Waters – 5'5" – Defender/Midfielder

Another product from Lexington High School along with Megan Classer, five foot five inch defender and midfielder Mary Katherine Waters will don the maroon and white next season. Like her teammate, Waters is a very decorated player with a career that includes three All-Region nods, an All-State selection, being named a Gatorade Player of the Year finalist, a Wendy's Female Heisman Award, three straight regional championships, and one state championship in 2016. Additionally, she logged six years combined between SCUFC and Lexington County Soccer Club, earning a whopping seven state championships, three straight Jefferson Cups, and a Southern Regional Premiere League Championship. With over 20 goals and 20 assists in her last two years of high school play, Waters also lettered for four years in cheerleading in addition to her soccer career.
