
Women's Soccer Falls to William & Mary on the Road

WILLIAMSBURG, VA. – The College of Charleston women's soccer team fell 1-0 at William & Mary Sunday, October 3.
The Cougars' record is now 7-5-1 and 3-2 in CAA play.
Avery Nassetta found the first shot opportunity of the afternoon 48 seconds into the match but could not connect. Nassetta took three shots throughout the game.
Charleston outshot the Tribe 12 to six in the first half, forcing William & Mary's goalie to make two saves. The teams entered the locker rooms scoreless at half.
William & Mary netted the only goal of the day in the 73rd minute of play. The Tribe took only three shots in the second 45 compared to Charleston's nine.
The Cougars controlled the remainder of the game taking five shots while limiting William & Mary to zero. Charleston took 21 shots in total compared to the Tribe's nine with Emma Wennar leading the team with five. All five of Wennar's shots were on target.
Charleston drew eight corners Sunday afternoon while the Tribe had five.
Ainsley Chunn made two saves in goal for Charleston.
The Cougars return to the pitch Sunday, October 12 to host Campbell at Patriots Point with kickoff set for 1:00 p.m. The match will be themed breast cancer awareness, and all fans are encouraged to wear pink.
