Box Score HARRISONBURG, VA. – The College of Charleston men's tennis team (7-9) found success at the top of its singles rotation on Saturday, but in the end they were overmatched by James Madison (14-5) in a 5-2 defeat.
Ksawery Pociej and
Easton Thomas were able to claim their flight two doubles match 6-3, but JMU was able to take the point with wins on the other courts. The Dukes extended their lead to 3-0 with wins in flights three and four to put the Cougars on the brink.
Benedikt Henning was able to buy the College some time when he defeated Alvaro Arce Garcia by a score of 6-2, 6-2 in flight one to make the score 3-1. But it wasn't enough to stop the flow, as JMU clinched the match with wins in each of the bottom flights.
Though the match was decided,
Juan Estevarena was able to give CofC one more point on court two, coming back from an early deficit to win his encounter with Paul Mendoza 2-6, 6-4, 10-5.
CofC will have a week off before returning to action against East Carolina on April 8.
